Heroes Lesley Zerebny and Gilbert Vega First Responders Survivors Support Act of 2019
Championed and created by Dr. Matt Zerebny and Congressman Dr. Raul Ruiz, HR 5060 was written in the memories of Palm Springs Police Officers Lesley Zerebny and Gilbert Vega to benefit all first responder families who suffer the loss of their fallen loved one.
The bill was announced by Congressman Ruizoutside of the Palm Springs Police Dept. on 10/8/2018.

IN SUMMARY
- Increase the death and disability benefit
- Revise the date of determination for the amount of the death and disability benefit
- Increase the monthly education assistance benefit and otherwise revise the computation method for such benefit
